It’s been months since Android O is passing through lots of beta release, leaks, speculations, naming hypes and it seems all are going to be calm as Google finally has announced the release date of Android O as August 21. Google released a countdown teaser with the statement “Android O is touching down to Earth with the total solar eclipse, bringing some super (sweet) new powers!” This time Google is following eclipse as a theme to their launch event and launch will happen through Livestream from New York 2:40 PM ET.

Google Android O Eclipse countdown page also features an eclipse location experience finder which shows that your location has which kind of solar eclipse experience-partial/full with timing information of Start-Peak-End of Solar Eclipse. Google has also included live stream link to NASA’s Total Eclipse page through which you can take an experience of Solar Eclipse & live stream link to reveal of Android O at 2:40 PM ET. Apart from that Google Assistant is also there to provide you some basic information about the Solar Eclipse.
It’s worth to note that release date of Android O is in pictures from last few weeks since when few of industry’s expert already revealed the probable date of release.

After all this, the bet is still on what would be the name of Android O, Oatmeal Cookie-Octopus-Oreo? According to the statement “…bringing some super (sweet) new powers!” It’s clear that Google will follow the trend of the naming of Android with some Sweet, but what will it be. Initially, after Google I/O according to many observation it tipped as Oatmeal Cookie. But since then that speculation is also diminished but now Octopus & Oreo is in the competition.
According to recent catch by Android Police, they suggested that it’s definitely going to be Android Oreo, as they caught filename for a video Google recently posted via Google+ (GoogleOreo_Teaser_0817_noDroids (1).mp4), yummy right?
